So far so good. It's beautiful and very thin. I don't sleep in my necklaces so I knew it would be safe. However, I've leant it to my 19 year old daughter who never takes her necklaces off and even though she's been sleeping in it, it has not broken yet. I can say that if a baby or pet would grab it quickly, it most likely wouldn't hold up. But for the price, it's beautiful and more sturdy than it appears.
